Bharti Arora IPS Officer, IG Haryana State Vigilance Bureau, belonging to 1998 batch was awarded Indian Police Medal (IPM) along with other six police officers by the hands of Haryana state Governer on republic day. Bharti Arora was also one of the 100 women, who were awarded by President of India for her special efforts in organising various welfare programmes for prisoners in Ambala and Bhondsi jails. Bharti Arora IPS Officer was also appreciated for introducing various schemes for road safety and reducing the chances of road accidents. She was also involved in the duties related to unauthorised cow slaughtering and smuggling in Haryana. She was involved in the duties of keeping a check on illegal slaughtering of cows and sources of cow and beef smuggling in the state.
However, Bharti Arora is also known to be involved in some unpleasant incidences. Bharti Arora court order Vs Jyotsna Bhardwaj case is one of them. In Ajay Bhardwaj police case, a Gurgaon resident, Jyotsna Bhardwaj had made allegations and filed a Jyotsna Bhardwaj harrasment case against Bharti Arora that she was using her administrative powers to mentally torture her as she had complained to her. She also appealed that appropriate action should be initiated against Bharti Arora. In Bharti Arora Vs Jyotsna Bhardwaj harrasment case, Bharati Arora had also been transferred as Director and Principal of Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai, Sonepat. This has happened for the first time in the history of India that one IPS officer is appointed as a school principal.
Bharti Arora case has also been in news for managing to shut down the toll collection on 32-lane expressway for 15 days. This legal action was initiated against the contractor because she had observed that the said contractor was not able to manage the traffic on 32-lane expressway. During these 15 days, Bharti Arora and her team were successful in managing the travel on this expressway hassle-free.
